WHAT IS THIS CD ALL ABOUT?   WHY DID I DO IT?

After going through a tumultuous few years, I was left with a wide range of emotions that I could only truly express through music.  So I decided to compose those feelings into songs.  Realizing that what I was going though were the same things that many other people experience, I thought that maybe this music might connect with others.  Adding that to the fact that I have always wanted to move people and connect with them through music, putting out this CD was the natural next step.

WHY DID I DO IT COMPLETELY SOLO?

Although I really enjoy working with other musicians and getting their contributions, I wanted this project to be an accurate portrait of me and my personality.  It was important that it truly expressed who I am and how I was feeling.  I also enjoyed the challenge of creating a complete CD without anyone else’s help.

 

 

WILL I COLLABORATE WITH OTHER MUSICIANS IN THE FUTURE?

I certainly wouldn’t rule it out, but right now I have no plans to do that.

WHAT IS MY PHILOSOPHY ON COMPOSING?

An artist should be true to him/herself and true to the listener.  The songs that are created should come from the heart and be completely sincere, not contaminated by delusions of self-importance, exaggerated emotions, or any effort to push hidden agendas.

 

 

WHY IS THE CD ONLY 29:16 LONG?

Two reasons, really.

 

First of all, I felt the nine songs I chose made a good, complete-sounding package.  More songs didn’t really make it better.  It was a case of “less-is-more.”

 

Second: to be honest, I purposely kept it short because I was afraid that the listener might get tired of me!

DO I PLAN TO PUT OUT ANOTHER CD?

I don’t know.  I want to see how this one does.   If people like it then sure, I’d love to do another one.  However if nobody really likes it, then I probably wouldn’t risk doing it again.
