About The Artist
“I didn’t want to play the pieces they were teaching me. I liked rock n’ roll!”
Sean began playing piano at a very young age. Sean’s father, Gene Cannady, had studied classical music for most of his life. Gene introduced the young Sean to music and the joy of playing piano.

As a result, Sean began taking piano lessons at the age of six. However the lessons ended after one year, because as Sean puts it: “I didn’t want to play the pieces they were teaching me. I liked rock n’ roll!” Immediately after dropping the piano, Sean started playing the guitar.

Sean continued with the guitar until one fateful day, when a fellow musician introduced him to music that forever changed him. “My friend introduced me to two bands I’d never heard of – Genesis and Gentle Giant. That night they became my new favorite bands – it was what I was always looking for in rock. It inspired me to drop the guitar and start playing piano again – the instrument I was always better at anyway.”

For the next year, Sean pretty much isolated himself in his room and played piano day and night. The next four years found him buying all sorts of keyboards and playing in various bands around Southern California.
Even though Sean was having the time of his life, there wasn’t much money in it. So Sean left the music scene to go back to school, where he earned an Engineering degree and subsequently joined the corporate world.
However Sean’s love and interest in music, and composition in particular, never left him. He would come home from work every night and just sit at his little electric piano and compose. “It was very therapeutic for me. It allowed me to express what was going on inside in a way words could not.”

Now a bit older and wiser, Sean has decided to record and post his music, in hopes that he can connect with others, and maybe provide some enjoyment at the same time. “Music allows people to know me in a way they normally would not. I can express deep feelings through the international language of music that couldn’t be appropriately expressed any other way.”
